Busyness
Our modern lives are busy. We rush. We stress. We overwork. We ask each other how’s it going and the first thing most people will say is ‘busy.’
We have busy jobs. We have busy lives. We are busy parents.
And as if that wasn’t all enough, we keep even more busy with trips, and plans, and races, and excursions.
We go from one thing to a next in a never-ending line of busyness.
This doesn’t leave a lot of time for just being. For being present. For going inward.
This doesn’t leave a lot of space for awareness and for tuning into ourselves.
But there is a reason for that. We are staying busy on purpose. Because if we stop. We have to feel. We have to be honest with ourselves. We have to address what keeps chasing us. We have to face our fears, our hollowness, our underlying subconscious limiting beliefs that haunt us.
If we stop we have to face ourselves. Our whole selves. Even the darkness within that is begging to be healed. That is begging to be seen so it can be released.
And that is scary.
So what do we continue to do. We stay busy.
And this is not just an under current in the individual, this is a strong under current in the collective consciousness right now.
This is why the post partem period is an extremely potent time for triggering transformation. It is a rare moment in our busy lives where we are forced to slow down, to be more present, to tune into our inner world.
There are other forced moments of slowing down as well. An injury. A layoff from a job.
Many times when these things occur to us we wonder why they happen and what we did wrong to deserve these things. But sometimes this might be your soul calling out to get your attention. To heed the call to go inward so that you can bring awareness to your inner turmoil, your inner emotions, and your inner blockages so that you can heal.
Busyness keeps us caught in the external world. We go from one thing to the next never truly feeling fulfilled. We are searching, we are looking. But we are looking in all the wrong places. The external world can never truly make us feel whole. That always comes from within. And in order to go within, we must slow down.
I know that it’s hard. I have been there. My favorite cover up was busyness.
But I promise that slowing down and going within is worth it.
And at the end of the day, your truth is always what is best for you, so no matter what always honor your own inner calling, your own inner truth. Whatever that may be. But in order to hear that inner truth, we have to go within. It’s the hardest and greatest journey of our lives. The one that happens within ourselves.
I honor and bow to your own inner journey.
With so much love.
