How are you approaching your day?
‘How’ we are during our day is just as important if not more important than ‘what’ we are doing.
I used to run around like a crazy person. As a mom to two small boys, a previously intense full time job, and a laundry list of items that were relentless–laundry, cook dinner, book dentist appointment, walk the dog–life was a hustle.
The modern workplace intensely emphasizes this approach to life. You grind, you work hard, you dig through your email, you attend back-to-back meetings. We have cultivated a world where this is the norm. This is what is accepted. This is how you ‘do’ life.
But what is our state of ‘being’ when we are approaching our day like this?
For me it felt tight, closed off, and my mind whirring with the many things I needed to check off my to-do list that day. And the more I did, the more I felt I had to keep doing. I would sit at my desk and ‘hammer’ through my email. I hustled, I worked hard. I did this in a state of tense shoulders, anxiety for the never ending work hustle and to-do list, tight breathing, closed off heart and living in a space of using only my intellectual mind to accomplish my tasks.
So many of us operate from this place for years. We aren’t thriving, we are surviving. We think this is how life is supposed to be. How it’s supposed to roll. After all, this is how generations previously captured the ‘American Dream.’ Anything was possible with hard work.
Welp, I can tell you right now, we actually don’t have to live this way anymore. And I can also tell you right now that SO MUCH more is possible when we live in a different state of being.
I live my life now from a place of centered ease, calm, peace, joy and empowerment.
And this is 1000 times more effective (and fun!) than living in a state of grinding.
I follow the energy. I surrender and allow the flow. I live from my heart-center. I let source light guide me.
You can do this too. That is why I am here. To help you do this too.
When we are in a state of alignment, of ease, of peace, of calm, of flow. When we approach life not just from our intellectual minds, but from our entire being, and especially from an aligned wholeness of all that we truly are–life blossoms.
How does one actually embody this?
You take time to set the tone for your day. For me this is through a short meditation where I ask the energy, source light, the wholeness of myself, ‘where do we want to flow today?’ ‘Where does the energy want to go today?’
And I simply do what I am called to do. I let go, I allow, I surrender, and I let the beauty within me (and within all of us), and that centered wholeness, that soul alignment, god consciousness, whatever you want to call it, guide me.
But to ‘be’ in this state of being. It does not come from being tight, from being closed off, from being only in the mind. You have to open, you have to allow, you have to surrender, you have to let go. You also have to be so aware of ‘how’ you are approaching something.
I still find myself sometimes ‘struggling and grinding’ at a work task and I have to tell myself to leave it. To stop. This isn’t alignment, this isn’t flow. A new door will open in time or something else will align and help me with this eventually. Or I need to entirely pivot.
I very much do still get caught up sometimes in the state of ‘go mode’ (for example when I was prepping my house, grocery shopping and cleaning for hosting our in-laws) and I had to slow down, I had stop, I had to take three deep breaths, and then I told myself to approach whatever I am doing with calm, with ease, and allow that feeling inside of me to arise, and then begin again. And this can be with everything–doing the dishes. Cleaning the yard. Putting your child to bed. Answering an email. If you are tight, if you are hustling, if you are hammering, if you are in ‘go mode.’ Stop. Take deep belly breaths. Align yourself to the feeling that you want to bring forth. Feel that feeling–calm, peace, ease, joy. Feel it with your whole being and then come from that state instead.
Because at the end of the day. We don’t get more of what we want. We get more of what we are. YOU, your energy, the ‘how,’ the feeling state that you are in that day. THAT dictates your life just as much as WHAT you are doing.
The ‘what’ can indeed be important too–for example if we are killing an endangered species, or deathly contaminating our earth with toxins, or knowingly supplying children with toxic food, well then, yes, you should probably stop doing the ‘what.’
But for most of us, it’s also in the how. How we are approaching our life is so important. This is what truly shapes our lives. This is our power, our energy, our feeling, our ‘being-ness,’--this is our power. And this is how we shape not only our world but the world around us.
When we are in alignment and in ease and in flow within ourselves. And I mean our WHOLE selves. Every part of us–the human side, the aspects of ourselves that we don’t like, and the source light that we all are, when we come into alignment from this place, when we feel from our heart-centers, when we beam our light, when we follow our energy, I mean wow–THIS is our power. THIS is how we literally bring the impossible into the possible. Life just falls into place. You don’t have to hustle, you don’t have to grind, things just align, things to just easily fall into place. You don’t have to worry about anything, because it all just falls into place as you are guided along. And don’t get me wrong, you are still very much an active participant in this and this is not about being like welp c’est la vie life will just work out. You are very much continuously following your own perfect alignment, your own perfect flow. You are guided by this and flow through this and you are still doing things sometimes.
And life is freaking amazing.
Things come to you and happen for you without the grind. You stay in your soul alignment, your heart-center, your light source power, and this is where ANYTHING is possible. Literally anything. No limits.
It all starts with the ‘how.’ It all starts with not WHAT you want to be but HOW you want to be.
How do you want to show up in this world?
Write it down. Set the intention. Bring that feeling into your life more and more.
I’ll see you in the how. xo
