Critique
If we are all uniquely, beautiful, and empowered creative beings–where does the role of critique come in?
When we are coming from our heart centers, from our place of pure joy, and we put that forth into the world. And someone critiques our work, whether in the workplace, or on a creative project, or within a piece of music. And the critique is there. Telling us to do something different. Telling us that is not right.
Yet we are all these amazing creator beings?
Yet we critique someone’s creation.
I have realized how detrimental this is to us truly owning our own creative expression, our own unique expansiveness, our own voice and perspective and beautiful gifts for the world.
Critique is not helpful. It stunts flow. It stunts alignment. It stunts beauty. It stunts innovation. And it stunts creativity.
I held a corporate style job where I was so overly critiqued that I was like why am I even here. What is the point. Critique puts limitations on the world. It pulls us back from the everything is possible to the impossible.
And critique is generally not coming from a place of compassion, but from a place of judgement. And this judgement comes from not truly accepting everything within our own selves.
We critique each other so intensely (especially in the workplace) that we don’t let our own unique gifts and talents and abilities shine. It’s also a way to take responsibility and ownership away from someone which also ultimately leads to enabling .
So let’s stop critiquing. Let’s let others own their full creative expression of themselves. Let’s let each other all be the unique creator beings that we are. And let’s stop perpetuating the control/no control power dynamic and lynchpining people into having all of their empowerment and all of their responsibility in their own lives taken away and/or enabled.
Let’s each take responsibility for the beautiful souls that we are. And be ourselves fully and unequivocally and let each other learn, and grow, and blossom and shine.
Take full responsibility for yourself. And don’t worry about what everyone else is doing.
Just be YOU.
