The Ego

What is the ego?

When you go deeply within yourself. What is the ego? Is it a thing? Is it your body? Is it your mind? What is it?

What is the ego? Does it have legs and does it walk around?

Is it physically in the world?

Is it your perceptions? What is it?

Is it tangible? Can you touch it? Can you feel it? Is it you or is it me or is it the universe? What is it?

When I look deep inside, this is what the ego feels like to me:

It’s an energy. It’s a thought. It’s universal sub-conscious energy. It’s how you think the world should be versus how it really is. It’s a forgetting of the TRUTH. It’s desire and likes and dislikes. It’s categorizing and compartmentalizing. It’s fear. It’s the illusion of safety. It’s protecting yourself. It’s society. It’s a toddler throwing a tantrum. It’s a wild beastie raging in fear.

Go deeper. Go really, really deep. What truly is the ego?

Is it just cultivated energy from thoughts/beliefs that can be molded and shifted?

When I go really, really deep. I honestly don’t know what it is. It’s not there. So if it’s not there, then what is it?

It’s not really ‘me.’ It’s just energy around limiting beliefs. And the good news is that you can always change this energy. You can always instead align yourself with who you really are, which is limitless potential, life force, etc.

Why would you ever live from the ego when all it is are limiting beliefs/thoughts. That’s it. It’s just a program. And a program you don’t have to live with at the forefront anymore. You can shed this and step into your light, into your own personal TRUTH.

**Since writing this I have learned that having an ego is an essential part of being a human being. We just don’t need the ego running the show anymore, hence it’s dissolution to a backseat role within the awakening process.
